This depiction of an octopus in a circular rope-like frame is constructed from three layers of 1/4 inch wood: Two layers of natural mahogany for the octopus and a background layer of stained poplar. The multi-layered design gives the octopus depth and a dynamic feel. Each piece is unique due to the grain and variation of the wood.
 
There are a variety of stain colors to choose from for the background layer.
 
It has a 1/2 inch backing so it floats slightly off the wall, giving it a nice dimensional look. The backing has a built-in hanger as well, so all you need is a nail or screw to get it on the wall
